SkyScanner, Europe's leading flight search engine, today announces the appointment of Aaron Ritoper to the newly created position of Head of Global Sales. Reporting to Barry Smith, Co-Founder and Director, Business Development, Ritoper will be tasked with driving global sales, acquiring new clients and increasing revenue growth in all of SkyScanner's new, geographic markets.
Ritoper joins from Amadeus where he was the Head of Consulting Services for the e-Travel division.
In the new role Ritoper will be responsible for the management of revenue and sales strategies for global markets as well as implementing annual sales plans and leading the global sales team.
Smith comments: "As SkyScanner looks to expand globally we needed to create an overall head of sales role to serve as the company's key contact for major international partners and clients. Aaron's unrivalled experience from Amadeus and deep understanding of online travel services and solutions certainly means he's the best man for the job."
Ritoper comments: "It's great to be joining a young and innovative internet company with such ambitious plans. It's only the beginning for best-in-class flight search engines like SkyScanner, which has the technology and expertise to be a big player in the industry."
Prior to SkyScanner and Amadeus Ritoper worked in various business management roles at HP, General Motors and Xerox Corporation.
Since its launch four years ago, SkyScanner has become one of Europe's leading travel sites with over 6 million searches performed each month. A free to use independent site enabling users to search across multiple airlines and compare flight prices for all budget airlines that serve the UK and Europe, SkyScanner is a vital tool in the search for 'pure' travel information online.
