Ottawa, Canada (PRWEB) December 16, 2006
LPI Level Platforms Inc. today announced the release of Version 5.2, taking advantage of built-in manageability provided by Intel® vPro™ technology.
Intel® vPro™ technology is Intel's premier business desktop brand for proactive security, energy-efficient performance and built-in manageability to reduce support costs. Level Platforms' Managed Workplace software solution takes advantage of the Intel® vPro™ technology capabilities, enabling managed service providers to remotely assess and repair or reconfigure computer systems even when they are inoperative or unresponsive.
Leveraging the power of Intel® vPro™ technology, Level Platforms' Managed Workplace now provides:
- Expanded discovery and asset collection information
- Enhanced monitoring and alerting
- Extensive new remote control capabilities
Asset discovery now includes BIOS, CPU type and model number, amount and location of memory (DIMMs) and type of hard drive to help solution providers in troubleshooting and resolving problems remotely. MSPs can now capture and receive early warnings about problems that occur during boot-up, such as Power-On Start (POST) and BIOS errors. Remote control capabilities include turning off systems for energy savings, powering up systems, and cycling power off and on to reset systems.
The ability to remotely power up systems solves one of the biggest problems that managed service providers face in the remote management of SMB customer sites by allowing them to perform comprehensive routine desk top maintenance during off-hours. For example, MSPs can now apply critical patches and anti-virus updates, perform scheduled backups and carry out other critical automated or manual maintenance at night even if users power off computers at the end of the day.
With more than 2,000 solution provider partners in 15 countries around the world, Level Platforms is the leading remote monitoring and management software platform used by managed services providers to service their small and medium-sized end customers IT networks.
"Intel and Level Platforms are committed to providing managed service providers with the most comprehensive set of tools available to remotely monitor and manage their small business customers' IT infrastructures," said Steve Dallman, Intel General Manager of Reseller Channel Organization. "The combination of Intel® vPro™ technology and Level Platform's remote monitoring and management software provides a new level of built-in manageability for PCs, simplifying support and providing increased satisfaction in the end user's computing experience."
"Level Platforms' partnership with Intel and their integration of all these features in their consolidated management dashboard is one of the primary reasons we chose to partner with Level Platforms," said Marc Harrison, President of Silicon East, a solution provider based in New Jersey. "We are extremely excited about the combined capabilities because it will allow us to do that much more offsite and off hours proactive management of our customers' desktops. As a result, customers will be both happier and better serviced, all at a lower overall cost. As of six weeks ago we began building and delivering 100 percent Intel® vPro™ based systems."
"Our new Release 5.2 incorporating Intel® vPro™ technology represents a breakthrough of historical significance for the managed services industry," said Peter Sandiford, Level Platforms CEO. "Prior to this event all remote monitoring and management has effectively been limited to the tools provided at the operating system level. We are proud to have the opportunity to work closely with Intel to bring these new capabilities to the managed services community and look forward to continuing to lead the way as this new management technology evolves."
