Publishing company Speculative Fiction Review announces the release of "The Painted Man," an action-packed military/CIA thriller set in the opening days of the Iraq War.

In the early days of the war in Iraq, two Iraqi soldiers escape an assault on an underground bunker north of Baghdad. Their apparent mission: transmit the final locations of all WMD stockpiles hidden by the Iraqi Army to foreign terrorists. When CIA and Army Intelligence agents capture the suspects, a far more intricate plot, formed by a ruthless Iraqi general, unravels. But, misinformation and infighting between rival intelligence agents plague the hunt for the painted man, the ultimate target of their investigation. If they fail the mission, terrorists will control a frightening arsenal of weapons of mass destruction.

Charismatic characters drive the plot of this fast-moving thriller that pits a brilliant and merciless adversary against CIA and Army Intelligence agents. Floyd takes the reader on a deadly pursuit of enemy soldiers through perilous regions of Iraq, surrounded by the fog of war.

Kenneth Floyd has a varied background as a teacher, scientist and most recently, a police officer. "The Painted Man" is his first published novel. He lives in Dallas, TX, with his wife Jennifer and son Parker.

"The Painted Man" (224 pp, tpb, $14.95) ISBN 0-9785232-1-0
