In an attempt to capture the ever expanding popularity and acceptance of tattoos in our culture, Inked Nation http://www.inkednation.com was launched, an online tattoo community specifically designed as a place where enthusiasts, studios and artists can get together.
Remarkably after being online for only 10 months, Inked Nation (http://www.inkednation.com) has seen a tremendous growth and is confident its numbers will continue to drastically increase. Currently, Inked Nation (http://www.inkednation.com) has over 125,000 total members which includes well over 10,000 artists and 2000 tattoo studios with an increase of over 500 new members daily.
"This site was launched at the end of January and our traffic started, actually, by word of mouth with my friends and acquaintance within the tattoo world. Only after couple of days we saw that the viral marketing power had already kicked in and everyone was referring their friends to the site," said Jean-Francois Laverdiere, co-founder and Webmaster of InkedNation.com
"The idea behind our community is pretty simple," he said. "We wanted to create a hang out area where studios, artists and tattoo enthusiasts who all share the same love for tattoos could meet, make great friends and much more."
The site offers features such as unlimited photo albums, groups, forums and chats. We offer live video chat, instant messaging, blogs and bulletins. Our programming department even developed a live cam application for artist and studios so they can actually broadcast live via web cam from their tattoo studios.
"We figured there was room for more than TV shows for Studio getting exposure. With our inkedcam feature, many shops can expose themselves for free to thousands of members within our community," said Joel Krathenheim, co-founder and chief programmer for InkedNation.com
Since tattoos are very common in the Music Scene they have also decided to offer Bands and Musician a special music profile option that allows any music member to upload as many as 14 songs of their copyrighted material to their profile creating an amazing branding opportunity
"Our Goal is not to dominate but to offer as much as we can as interactive features and communication capabilities to our community members," added Jean-Francois Laverdiere. "As tattoos are becoming more common and accepted within our communities, we're confident Inked Nation (http://www.inkednation.com) will become the top community/resource site for anybody that is either curious about tattoos or is a full fledged enthusiast."
