Milford, OH (PRWEB) December 20, 2006
As school districts in Ohio implement the Ohio Standards for the Teaching Profession, Lucid Data Corporation's FrameWorks™ and PDExpress® are ready to help districts manage and meet the requirements of the standards with a comprehensive web-based self-assessment and professional development management solution.
"The FrameWorks assessment application was developed in collaboration with Charlotte Danielson and is based on her research into effective teaching practices. It enables teachers to reflect on their teaching effectiveness using the new Ohio Standards for the Teaching Profession or a customized framework reflecting a district's needs," according to Mike Hockman, Professional Development Advisor for Lucid Data. "Teachers can easily self-assess their effectiveness on the Elements and Indicators in the Ohio Standards (or district-created standards) and provide evidence to support their self-assessment. By itself, the self-assessment assists teachers in the development of focused Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP) goals. If desired, a mentor or administrator may view a teacher's self-assessment and complete an assessment of their own, again using the elements and indicators. A comparison of the assessments would then drive professional conversations about the practice of teaching."
According to Dr. Larry Campbell, Director of Human Resources for West Carrollton City Schools, "We use FrameWorks because it mirrors the State's entry year teacher Praxis III assessment and looks and functions like the Ohio Standards for the Teaching Profession recently developed by the Ohio's Educator Standards Board. FrameWorks, along with PDExpress, have significantly improved our processes for managing teacher assessment and professional development."
PDExpress, Lucid's professional development management application, enables Local Professional Development Committees (LPDC) to track, approve and record a history of professional development for each individual including Individual Professional Development Plans, CEU activities, workshop registration and licensure tracking ... all in a web-based environment.
