According to LUNA Survey; Revitalizing the Daily Nutrition Regimen Will Help Women Stay on Track

LUNA®, the maker of the Whole Nutrition Bar for Women™, today announced the results of its annual Healthy New Year survey. Co-sponsored by Decipher, a leading independent research organization, the survey of more than 300 women nationwide showed that 2007 will bring changes to women's health and nutrition regimens. More than 90 percent of women will make resolutions to stay healthy in 2007, however, 1/3 of the respondents admit that they are unlikely to commit to their goals.

Big Changes in 2007

This year's LUNA survey confirms that women's focus on their health is more prominent than ever. The majority of respondents said that their 2007 nutrition regimen will differ from 2006. According to the survey, among the ways that women's eating habits would change in 2007 include the following:

  •     Pay more attention to the nutrition labels (41 percent)
  •     Eat more natural foods (33 percent)
  •     Add vitamins to their daily routine (33 percent)
  •     Eat more organic foods (22 percent)

Additionally, more than 60 percent of respondents felt that they are not receiving their daily recommended dose of vitamins.

"Our annual survey shows that with hectic and demanding schedules, on-the-go women are constantly challenged to find easy ways to incorporate a healthy diet into their everyday routine, but often fall short at staying on-track," said Tara DelloIacono Thies, LUNA nutrition strategist for LUNA bar. "At LUNA, we strive to offer women portable, nutritious options that make snacking an enjoyable part of a healthy lifestyle."

With many women divulging that committing to their New Year's resolutions will be difficult, LUNA offers a variety of sweet and indulgent flavors without the added guilt. Flavors such as Caramel Nut Brownie, Chocolate Pecan Pie and Chocolate Peppermint Stick have just 170 - 180 calories and contain more than 23 vitamins, minerals and other nutrients that contribute to a woman's overall healthy lifestyle. In addition, all LUNA bars now are 70 percent certified organic -- making it even easier for women to confidently alter their 2007 nutrition regimen by including only natural and wholesome ingredients.
