Singer/songwriter Janyse Jaud recently received the honor of being named Finalist (one of the top 4 rated songwriters) by the Song of the Year (http://www.songoftheyear.com/ ) songwriting contest. Song of the Year is an international songwriting contest and some of the judges are the biggest names in music including many Grammy Award winners.
Song of the Year is excited to recognize Janyse (pronounced Zja-niece) for her exceptional songwriting ability for the song 'Santa Is Mine Ho Ho' in the Jazz category. Janyse competed against songwriters from all over the world for this honor. When asked what inspired the song Janyse commented, 'I wanted to write a song about Mrs. Claus and also relay how much Santa loves her and thinks of her as his greatest gift.'
’The Magic Of Christmas’, Janyse’s latest CD release, includes ten of her original songs destined to become classics. 'Santa Is Mine Ho Ho' and 'It's Christmas I'm Without You' are already being featured in the movie 'All She Wants For Christmas' airing December 2006.
Another original, ‘Home Sweet Home’, is dedicated to those in uniform. Janyse pays tribute not only to our over-seas troops but also the wives and sweethearts back home. Written, scored and performed by Janyse, each song celebrates the spirit of the season.
An accomplished and award-winning vocal artist, Janyse is also the voice of the Emmy Award Winning series “Adoption Stories” (Alliance Atlantis), the voice of two lead characters in the Kids Choice Awards Best Cartoon nominated “Ed, Edd n Eddy” (Cartoon Network), the lead voice in the Sundance Film Festival Award Winner “Broken Saints”, a cameo voice appearance in Oliver Stone’s movie “World Trade Center”, and the voice of Pinkie Pie, the star of the new ‘live’ My Little Pony stage production touring North America.
