Survey Reveals Working Habits of Men and Women

In a recent survey conducted by IntelliContact, men and women where asked about their working habits.

Durham, NC (PRWEB) December 21, 2006 -- In a survey of men and women who work in the Small and Medium Sized Business segment, it was revealed that working habits differ between the sexes.

The survey of 314 men and women, was conducted in the last quarter of 2006 by Broadwick Corporation using the Company's web-based service, IntelliContact, a leading email marketing software for the SMB market.

Respondents were asked a series of questions on their working habits, including how often they check email; when they read it; how they measure success; and if they have a home office.

While most men surveyed (54%) read email as soon as it comes in, most of the women surveyed (55%) scan it and read it completely later.

However when it comes to checking for email, the men and women were similar. The most common response of both sexes surveyed (54% of the women and 49% of the women) was that they check email as soon as it comes in. This compares with 13% of the men and 15% of the women who check it only every 30 minutes.

The measurement of success was an area where men and the women differed. When asked "How do you measure success?," the number one answer for the men surveyed was Financial Security (37%) while the most popular answer for the women was Being in Charge of My Own Time (39%).

In a trend that seems to be an indicative of the SMB market, an overwhelming majority of men and women surveyed (76% and 84%, respectively) said they had a home office.

Ryan P. Allis, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Broadwick commented, "Our customers reflect the SMB market today.
