The Chief Marketing Officer Institute, announced today that a call for nominations is now underway for its first annual Chief Marketing Officer of the Year Award. Nomination forms for this prestigious award are currently available at http://www.ChiefMarketingOfficer.com and will be accepted through Friday, January 19, 2007. The winner is scheduled to be announced Wednesday, January 31, 2007.
The CMO Institute, which boasts the most comprehensive collection of academic research, white papers, and articles dedicated to the leadership challenges facing senior marketing executives, has created this award to recognize Chief Marketing Officers, or executives in equivalent positions, who have demonstrated outstanding leadership across various disciplines of the marketing field in 2006. Nominations are being accepted to recognize marketers from two categories:
- Large Organizations - Revenue greater than $250 million in 2006
- Small to Mid-Size Organizations - Revenue less than $250 million in 2006
Because the CMO of the Year Award recognizes best practices that transcend industry and technology boundaries, nominations are encouraged from marketing executives in all private and public companies, as well as government agencies and academic institutions across North America.
The CMO of the Year Award will be given to a marketer who has outperformed their peers in the following areas:
- Overall Contribution to the Success of their Company
- Successful Growth Strategy
- Increased Market Orientation and Customer Intimacy
- Distinguished Brand Management
- Commitment to Innovation
Nominees will be evaluated by a distinguished panel of experts to determine five finalists and a winner in each category. Based on personal interviews and further detailed information about the nominees' achievements, the jury will select the "CMO of the Year".
