RFID Center of Excellence at Penn State Behrend Offers Comprehensive Coursework

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is changing the face of supply chain management. Small and medium-sized businesses have the opportunity to learn about RFID technology, business benefits and opportunities by participating in interactive training courses, presented by the RFID Center of Excellence at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, and the Center for eBusiness and Advanced IT (eBizITPA).

"Introduction to RFID" will be offered on February 7, 2007 from 1-4:30 p.m. at the RFID Lab in the Sam and Irene Black School of Business, Erie, Pa. The introductory course provides an overview of RFID technology and capabilities, and features demonstrations using cutting edge RFID readers, antennas and tags.

A comprehensive, hands-on, two-day RFID training will be offered in Erie, Pa. on January 17-18, 2007 and March 7-8, 2007 from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. This course is designed to prepare attendees for the CompTIA RFID+ examination, at a fraction of the cost of other national trainings. CompTIA certification is the industry standard for foundation-level information technology skills. Individuals interested in gaining an in-depth understanding of RFID technology, hardware and software capabilities, RFID system implementation and system maintenance should attend this course.
