(PRWEB) December 23, 2006 -- Frustrated with the typical news images of Israel seen in the media, the Israeli Consulate in New York City initiated isRealli.org, the first blog ever created by a country.

Hoping to bring out the somewhat hidden side of Israel to the world, up close and personally, the 'isRealli' team at the consulate scans Israel and the web for all things Israeli and interesting.

The blog illuminates Israeli culture by way of its tantalizing restaurants, uber-creative fashion houses and cities pumping with nightlife and cultural institutions, not to mention the wealth of scientific and technological breakthroughs that occur behind university walls and in industry.

Initiated in New York by the Consul for Media and Public Affairs David Saranga, all of the blog's content generation and administration occurs from New York.

The next major project, currently being undertaken by the New York team, is the translation of the blog to Spanish (slated for launch by the end of 2006) and then French and German. Translation to Arabic is also being considered.
