Loadbalancer.org Adds Layer 7 to its Appliance but Asks Consumers If They Are Sure They Want Layer 7

Loadbalancer.org appliances can now utilise SSL termination/acceleration and cookie insertion, but customers are asked "Are you sure you want Layer7?"

Rowlands Castle, UK (PRWEB) December 22, 2006 -- Loadbalancer.org Ltd, leading manufacturers of fast server load balancing appliances, announced the introduction of full SSL termination/acceleration and Layer 7 cookie support for all Loadbalancer.org models BASIK, ENTERPRISE, SLEDGEHAMMER and Software Virtual Appliance.

Unlike other load balancer vendors, Loadbalancer.org tend to be brutally honest about how customers should design high availability infrastructure.

Its my firm belief that the proper way to scale infrastructure is at layer 4, with persistence embedded in the application. Our new layer 7 cookie insertion will scale to 4,000 cookie inserts/sec. But obviously with no persistence in the application you only get increased performance and no fail over or high availability

On average, our customers buy 2.4 load balancer appliances. To find out why, check out our no-nonsense FAQ at http://www.loadbalancer.org/fud.html
