The Phat 5" of College Basketball Kentucky, N. Carolina, UCLA, Kansas, and Duke Surpass the 9,100 All-Time Combined Wins Total on "Phat 5 Tuesday

Top 5 college basketball programs of All-Time will collectively surpass the 9,500 win total during the 2009-10 season and the 10,000 win total during the 2013-14 season. "The Phat 5" are the Top 5 in All-Time winning percentage.

(PRWEB) December 23, 2006 -- Tuesday December 19, 2006 will be remembered as an historic day in sports history. Allen Iverson, one of the most controversial and talented basketball players of this generation, was traded from the Philadelphia 76ers to the Denver Nuggets.

"The Phat 5" of College Basketball, Kentucky, N. Carolina, UCLA, Kansas, and Duke, entered the day with 9,099 combined wins. When the day was complete "The Phat 5" had surpassed the 9,100 win total and finished with 9,104.

All of "The Phat 5" teams played Tuesday. Kentucky beat Santa Clara 74-60. N. Carolina doubled-up on Florida Atlantic 105-52. UCLA out-muscled Sam Houston St. 75-61. Kansas dominated Winston-Salem 94-43. Duke had the toughest test of the evening and eased past Kent St. 79-72.

"The Phat 5" are in the middle of celebrating 500 years of combined play during the 2006-07 college basketball season.

Kentucky- 104 years, 1903-2006-07
N. Carolina- 97 years, 1911-2006-07
UCLA- 88 years, 1920-2006-07
Kansas- 109 years, 1899-2006-07
Duke- 102 years, 1906-2006-07

"The Phat 5" entered the 2006-07 season with 9,058 combined All-Time wins. All of the moons were lined up as all 5 teams would play on Tuesday December 19, 2006. Their special season got even more special as all 5 teams won, and their combined win total rose to 9,104 wins.

The projection of an average of 25-wins per year for each teams equals 125 total wins per year combined. "The Phat 5" are projected to surpass the 9,500 win total during the mid-season of 2009-10. They are projected to pass the even more historical mark of 10,000 All-Time wins during the 2013-14 season.

Kentucky- 1,934 wins ( most in NCAA Division 1 history)
N. Carolina- 1,893 wins ( 2nd most in NCAA Division 1 history)
UCLA- 1,590 wins
Kansas- 1,882 wins (3rd most in NCAA Division 1 history)
Duke- 1,807 wins (4th most in NCAA Division 1 history)

"The Phat 5" are number 1-5 in All-Time winning % with a minimum of 1,500 games played ( UNLV is 3rd with slightly under 1,400 games played)
