Gripping Novel Tells the Story of America's Next 9/11
Michael Devlyn Poulin's chilling novel, Underbelly, chronicles the ease with which terrorists could attack America
SPOKANE, WA (PRWEB) December 28, 2006 -- Radical activist Michael Devlyn Poulin tears a page out of history to craft a white-knuckle and startlingly plausible thriller about a loyal American turning on her own government.
The terrible memory of 9/11 is still fresh in most Americans' minds, but it could happen again, says author Michael Devlyn Poulin. Underbelly, his fierce new fictional thriller, delves into just how dangerously under-protected America really is.
A staunch supporter of the Palestinian struggle for liberation and an opponent of the war in Iraq, Poulin spent 27 months in federal prison for loosening the bolts on 30 high voltage electrical towers in Idaho, Washington, Oregon and California, to demonstrate the vulnerability of the electrical grid. As long as the American government uses its power for personal and monetary gain rather than for justice, he suggests, terrorist attacks will continue.
Underbelly is the riveting, fictional story of Sharon, an American woman born to liberal, well-educated Jewish parents, who turns on her own country in a twisted search for justice. In pitch-perfect prose, Poulin explores what makes a terrorist and why, and how even the simplest tools can undermine an empire. Chilling and daring, this is a cautionary tale that should be on every American's must-read list.
