New Move-A-Senior Program Allows Businesses to Help Senior Citizens Move

Senior Citizens with limited financial resources can receive funds to help offset the expenses of moving into senior care facilities. Simple Living For Seniors launches the Move-A-Senior program designed to allow businesses to donate funds to help seniors move from their home and into senior care facilities best suited to their mental and physical needs.

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) December 28, 2006 -- Simple Living For Seniors, Inc. today announced the launch of its new Move-A-Senior program. The new program allows businesses to help senior citizens by supporting the cost of household downsizing and moving expenses when moving into senior care communities. The new program would generate funding to cover the cost of dispersing household items that the senior has accumulated over years of living in the family home. These funds would cover the cost associated with the dispersal of household goods, packing services, moving company expenses, unpacking and set-up at the new home.

"We saw an opportunity to offer a program to help seniors in a unique way by providing assistance with paying for a much needed service," said Daphne Wilson, president of Simple Living For Seniors. "This program will offer senior citizens with limited financial resources the ability to downsize and move into facilities that can better serve their mental and physical needs."

The services offered as part of the Move-A-Senior program are:
·   Space planning
·   Downsizing by arranging for the selling, donation, shipping or discard of the items that will not be moved
·   Sorting, packing and labeling of all items that will be moved to the new home space
·   Arranging for and supervising the moving company during the move
·   Unpacking and completely setting up the new residence

"Many seniors do not have family available to assist with the daunting task of moving. In some cases, due to health issues, a senior might have to leave the residence without being able to prepare in advance for a move. Which leads to a great deal of stress and anxiety that can significantly impact an individuals overall health and well-being. In a great many instances, some seniors simply lack the financial means to pay for this type of service. That is where this program can help," said Wilson.

Simple Living For Seniors is a Chicago, Il based relocation management firm specializing in moving management for senior citizens in the greater Chicago-land area. Simple Living For Seniors is a member of the National Association of Senior Move Managers (www.nasmm.org), the Better Business Bureau (www.bbb.org) and the American Society on Aging (www.asaging.org).

"The business community now has a unique way to reach out to older adults as well as have a significant financial impact on their business and increased exposure to the mature adult market by participating in the Move-A-Senior program. Seniors are a very loyal group. They believe in working with companies that are working with them," Wilson said.
