Canada's own Graham Ryding and Shahier Razik stop at Barrie Athletic Club for a tune up before The Pace Credit Union Tournament that starts in Toronto on Monday January 8th. They will be joined by the World's #1 Ranked squash player Amr Shabana of Egypt and the #4 Ranked Gregory Gaultier of France for exhibition matches in front of a local audience.

Barrie, ON (PRWEB) December 30, 2006 -- Canada's own Graham Ryding and Shahier Razik stop at Barrie Athletic Club for a tune up before The Pace Credit Union Tournament that starts in Toronto on Monday January 8th. They will be joined by the World's #1 Ranked squash player Amr Shabana of Egypt and the #4 Ranked Gregory Gaultier of France for exhibition matches in front of a local audience.

The Barrie Athletic Club will host the exhibition matches for local residents to come see four of the best Squash players in the world. Nexgen Lasers is sponsoring the event. The Barrie Athletic Club will be selling tickets and providing a buffet, there is limited number of tickets available and the event is sure to sellout.

"So many of our members and friends from the community are huge fans; to have an exhibition of this caliber here has got the whole city in a buzz. Having the top two Canadian Players as well as two of the top in the world here, is a real treat for our community."

The 7th Annual PACE Canadian Squash Classic, presented by Dundee Securities, expands to the Super Series level, joining a roster of 10 international squash tournaments on the 2007 PSA World Tour schedule. Egypt's Amr Shabana, who kicked off the year with a victory in his first tournament, rounded off 2006 in fine style when he clinched the Saudi International title in the finals of the PSA Super Series Platinum event in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. His opponent for that title was none other than Gregory Gaultier.

The French squash pecking order is on the verge of its first major change for eight years after Gregory Gaultier defeated the perennial French Champion, Thierry Lincou in the quarter-finals of the Saudi International.

Canada's Graham Ryding is currently the highest ranked Canadian player and has enjoyed an award winning career representing the Canadian National Team since 1995: 3 times National Title Winner 1997, 2000, 2004 - Quarter-Finalist US Open, Semi-Finalist Virginia Open, Winner Quebec Open, Quarter-Finalist US Open just to mention a few of his accomplishments.

Shahir Razik out of Toronto, Canada is currently ranked #27 in the world has also had an impressive career. Shahir has represented the Canadian National Team since 1999: National title successes, Finalist 2005 - North American Open Winner, Swiss Open Winner, Losone Open Winner, Baltimore Cup Winner, etc.
