Suggestions for Singles on Valentine’s Day

Humor columnist Angela Manfredi makes suggestions for celebrating single-hood.

New York, NY (PRWEB) February 3, 2006 -- Like millions of other women who are romantically unattached, singles humor columnist Angela Manfredi knows what it’s like to be without a love interest on Valentine’s Day. Instead of focusing on the couple-centricity of February 14th, Angela makes the following suggestions for celebrating single-hood.

1.)    Treat yourself to a fabulous meal at a wonderful restaurant. Get dressed up for an evening out. Don’t wait for a date to don that sexy get-up. Dining alone is a real confidence builder. And, you can order as much dessert as you want without feeling self-conscious or worrying about the chocolate sauce that dripped on your blouse. If you’re not ready to go it alone, invite your single friends along.

2.)    Really love yourself! Don’t wait by the door for the elusive singing telegram or Candy-gram. Instead, make (and keep) an appointment for a Mammogram. Your compressed breasts will thank you.

3.)    Adopt a Valentine! There are no shelters overrun with former male models who’ve traded in their hair gel for a medical degree. But, there are plenty of furry four-legged friends longing for love.

4.)    Treat yourself to sexy new underwear and pretty push-up bras. Say buh-bye to the granny panties and splurge on some sassy skivvies. And, invest in a quality bra. Your clothes will fit and feel better!

5.)    Clean out your closet! Donate unwanted suits to organizations such as www.dressforsuccess.org so disadvantaged women can look sharp on job interviews. Bring the ex-s shirts to Jiffy Lube.

And, for the single guys who actually know that something called “Valentine’s Day” exists and don’t want to spend it alone, simply install something such as sink or a car stereo. A man with a caulking gun or spool of speaker wire will not be lacking for beer buddies for very long…
