DopoYume Adds New Music to An Impressive Catalogue: The Secret Show No Longer a Secret

Indie rock fans will soon have a new obsession. DopoYume's eagerly awaited new music release, the Secret Show, has hit the streets. The album combines pop hooks with thought-provoking, sometimes dark, lyrics to create an impression that lingers long after the last cut has ended.

New York (PRWEB) February 7, 2006 -- This year, February brings more than snow drifts and stuffy noses. New music from the legendary New York indie rock band, DopoYume, will help shake off the winter chill. The Secret Show is the band's highly anticipated full-length LP. Jordan Galland, founder and frontman, has created a 12-song indie rock album of unusual diversity and depth. These are pop songs aiming for both heart and head . Galland relies on help from pals Sean Lennon (guitar, piano and vocals), David Muller (bass), Timo Ellis (drums, bass, guitar), Adam Crystal (keyboards) and Japa Keenon (drums) to create a new music type.

New music highlights from the Secret Show include the exhilarating, driving guitar riffs of “The Devil” to the haunting, melodic softness of “Shadow of the Pyramids” and the hooky pop rhythms of “She Likes Me”, DopoYume's indie rock is always original and exciting. The band’s trademark is irony and surprise, expressed through Galland’s fanciful lyrics and an inventive mixture of musical styles. It's new music that isn't afraid to mine the past. In their only cover, DopoYume turn Leonard Cohen’s somber ballad, “Famous Blue Raincoat”, into a high-octane, punk rock poem of betrayal and forgiveness. The album’s final song, “Love is Simple,” contrasts a musical homage to the innocent cadence of doo-wop with the dark, decidedly not carefree, lyrics.

DopoYume contains budding multimedia stars. In addition to storming the indie rock music scene, Galland, Lennon and Ellis have collaborated on a prize-winning short film, Smile for the Camera, which had its premiere at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival in November, 2005 and was an official selection at the Big Apple Film Festival in the same year.

DopoYume’s new music CD, The Secret Show, can be previewed or purchased through their website, www.dopoyume.com. DVD’s of Smile for the Camera, produced by DopoYume Pictures, are also available at www.dopoyume.com. DopoYume is the next band poised to burst forth from the indie rock scene and capture a wider audience.
