Headway Software Announces First Release of Structure101 for Java

Dublin, Ireland (PRWEB) February 3, 2006 -- Headway Software today announced the first release of Structure101™ for Java, a brand new product line building on the ideas of our Crossroads A-List award-winning Headway Review. Structure101, for the first time, makes it easy for users to see and understand how their software is really constructed.
“It’s a very simple concept – if the structure is not right, you have no foundation for extensibility and maintainability,” said Chris Chedgey, Headway Software’s CTO. With survey after survey showing software maintenance costs exceeding 60% of total software budgets, it is Headway Software’s goal to improve market awareness of the value of good software structure.
The concept of software structure and how to measure it has been around for some time – Bob Martin, Martin Fowler, and John Lakos, amongst others. The products have been there too – SmallWorlds, SA4J, Lattix, Klocwork, even Headway Review. But now with Structure101 the next generation of structural analysis and measurement tools has arrived, designed specifically for ease-of-use, simplicity, scalability and wider market-adoption.

Structure101 is currently available for Java on Windows and Linux and is priced at $499 per user. Support for C and C++ will be added shortly. The Structure101 Tracker is scheduled for release in the second quarter, adding the ability to store and trend codebase snapshots and to do structural differencing between them.
