Total Merchant Services To Provide Free Wireless Credit Card Terminals

Total Merchant Services has announced that it will be providing free wireless credit equipment for all new mobile merchants enrolling in their credit card processing service. Merchants that can benefit from this program include cab/limo drivers, delivery service, towing, trade show, flea market and most any on-site delivery or service company.

Chattanooga, TN (PRWEB) February 7, 2006 - Beginning Feb 1, 2006, Total Merchant Services will be providing all mobile-type merchants who enroll for credit card processing services with a free Lipman Nurit Model 8000 Wireless credit card processing terminal. Business types that can benefit from this program include cab/limo services, trade show/flea market, towing, delivery services, locksmiths, carpet cleaners, contractors and many other businesses where transactions need to be conducted without the provisions of electricity or a phone line. Historically the cost of wireless equipment (about $1000) has prohibited smaller “mom and pop” type business from accepting credit cards. The company believes that by removing this obstacle it will allow many such companies to expand their business and add customer convenience by offering credit card acceptance, and also allow other businesses that have a need for on-the-spot transactions to take another look at the benefits of the newest wireless credit card processing technology.

The terminal which includes an easy-to-load thermal receipt printer, a touch screen, built-in PIN Pad, smart card reader, 12 hour battery and charger will be shipped to the merchant ready to use, including an established account for the General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) wireless network. Unlike other terminals that have spotty and poor coverage in many locations, this GPRS equipped unit has a SIMS chip like a mobile phone enabling the user to automatically "roam" at no additional cost on all the GPRS carriers which include: AT&T Wireless, Cingular Wireless and T-Mobile. With the new technology, a credit card sale on a GPRS network can take as little as 3 seconds to complete. Coverage includes about 90% of the contiguous United States.
