“I knew after talking to Helen for five minutes that we would make great business partners,” said Lesley Mattos, Founder and CEO of Adesso Albums. “Given the success of the Adesso Album in the US market and the growing demand for it from abroad, I knew the timing was ideal for local representation in the UK market.”
Helen Rankin, the Founder of Instant Forever, used an Adesso Album at her wedding in July 2005 and was so enthusiastic about her experience with it that she approached Mattos with the idea of servicing the UK market.
“It was fantastic to be able to take the Adesso Album® back to our hotel room after the wedding, relax with a glass of wine and see the pictures of all our guests and read their beautiful handwritten comments,” said Rankin. “The concept impressed me so much that I approached Lesley about becoming her exclusive distributor in the UK.”
Mattos and Rankin share similar professional backgrounds as well as a keen entrepreneurial spirit. Mattos held key finance and communication positions in Silicon Valley for almost 30 years before having the idea for the Adesso Album. Within a few months of conceiving the idea, she had founded the Company, and has never looked back.
Rankin had a 15 year career in the financial services industry in the UK before experiencing the Adesso Album and deciding to contact Mattos about partnering. She likewise almost immediately put the wheels in motion to found her Company, Instant Forever.
Adesso Albums’ patent pending concept combines Polaroid instant photos and handwritten sentiments from guests at events such as weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, baby showers, anniversaries, etc., virtually replacing the traditional name-filled guest book.
