Freebirds World Burrito to Open Lubbock Restaurant

Freebirds World Burrito Plans 15th Restaurant in Lubbock

LUBBOCK, Texas (PRWEB) February 8, 2006 -- Freebirds World Burrito, Texas’ favorite fresh fast casual restaurant, will open its first restaurant in Lubbock - its fifteenth location in Texas. The new Lubbock restaurant is slated to open at 4930 Loop 289 South, Suite 250 in the Central Park Shopping Center at the intersection of Slide Road and Loop 289 South (between Old Navy and Rudy's BBQ).

"With its colorful neighborhoods and universities, and deeply rooted rock ‘n roll history, Lubbock makes for a perfect Freebirds location,” said Alan Hixon, COO, Freebirds World Burrito. “It’s the heart of West Texas. Lubbock’s quality of life attractions range from arts centers to wineries and more parks per capita than any other Texas city. We couldn’t resist.”

In addition to the Freebirds World Burrito traditional trade dress elements, which are a blend of metal and wood finishes accented by cloudscapes, brick walls, concrete floors, and a bright yellow and black color scheme, the Lubbock restaurant will be localized with a tribute to Buddy Holly, a native Lubbock singer, songwriter, and a pioneer of rock and roll.

The new restaurant will serve their full menu of burritos, salads, quesadillas, tacos, and nachos.

Freebirds World Burrito, which has acquired a fanatical following since the chain opened its first store in 1990 in College Station, is known for its funky atmosphere and Monster burritos.

With the Lubbock location, the company has grown to 15 locations across Texas in the Austin, College Station, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio and Lubbock markets. Four stores were opened in 2004, two in 2005, and several more are slated to open in 2006.
