Parents Choose Dora the Explorer as Top Kids Toy for 2005

When asked "Who was your child's favorite in 2005?", 38.85% of voters chose Dora the Explorer as their child's favorite character/kids’ toy. This latest statistic adds to Dora's list of successes. In 2005, Dora also earned awards from the Toy Industry Association (TIA). The TIA gave Dora a big nod with the "Property of the Year" award for the Dora the Explorer brand and "Best Girl Toy" award for Dora's Talking Kitchen.

(PRWEB) March 8, 2006 -- When asked "Who was your child's favorite in 2005?", 38.85% of voters choose Dora the Explorer as their child's favorite character/kids’ toy. Obviously, teaching problem-solving skills to preschoolers and getting them to play along with Dora the Explorer on her Nickelodeon show is resonating with many parenting styles as well as kids' preferences.

This finding reflects results from the "Are You a Slacker Mom?" personality quiz (www.areyouaslackermom.com) from Chatterbean, the Internet's leading resource for personal trend information and a source for numerous free personality tests.

Are You a Slacker Mom?
To determine which kids’ character was the most popular in 2005, parents who took the fun "Are You a Slacker Mom?" personality quiz on Chatterbean.com chose from five popular kids’ TV characters. Barney, The Wiggles, Elmo, The Rugrats, and Dora the Explorer vied for the top spot, but it was Dora who came out on top with nearly four out of ten votes. The Rugrats had a strong showing and enjoyed 26.08% of the votes. Elmo fell to the middle of the pack with 18.51% of the votes, and the musical Aussies, The Wiggles, lagged behind with 11.26% of the vote. Finally, the extraordinarily popular purple dinosaur of the 90's seems to have lost his luster with mothers, fathers, and kids, and Barney only received 5.30% of the vote.

Chatterbean.com attracts thousands of users every day to entertaining web sites that cover trends in personal growth, fashion, food, music, parenting, home ownership, education, and more. Chatterbean and its fun personality quizzes can be found at www.chatterbean.com.
