Allgon Microwave releases AMR Transcend - A Revolution in High Capacity Microwave Ethernet Systems

Allgon Microwave AB, the Advantech AMT owned Swedish pioneer of integrated Ethernet point-to-point microwave systems, launches at CeBIT 2006 the first product in their innovative new AMR Transcend portfolio of high capacity microwave solutions with adaptive coding and modulation features.

Hannover, Germany (PRWEB) March 9, 2006 -- Allgon Microwave AB, the Advantech AMT owned Swedish pioneer of integrated Ethernet point-to-point microwave systems, launches at CeBIT 2006 the first product in their new AMR Transcend portfolio of high capacity microwave solutions.

"We are very proud to launch our new AMR Transcend platform here at CeBIT 2006," states Leo F.J. de Meere, VP Sales and Marketing for Allgon Microwave. "This product is a perfect example of how, within six months, we have managed to take direct RandD synergies between our sister companies in the Advantech AMT group and ourselves. This new high-capacity access Node Controller (aNC) incorporates very special and innovative features for Ethernet microwave transport. For example, the Adaptive Coding and Modulation (ACM) capability revolutionises the way network planning for Ethernet over microwave will be done. It is absolutely unique for licensed microwave radio systems and will offer customers major cost savings for cases where high capacity solutions are required."

We are very proud to launch our new AMR Transcend platform here at CeBIT 2006
The new products enhance the range of integrated, feature-rich, Ethernet systems that Allgon Microwave already offers. These include a built-in VLAN-aware switch, supporting Quality of Service (including packet and port priority), and the unique true end-to-end flow control over the hop. Allgon Microwave has always focused on offering superb system gain and, with ACM, has taken an extra step in applying this logic now for the high capacity segment.

The largest customer growth has been achieved in the "fixed wireless access" markets over the last few years. The flat throughput and extremely low latency of the Allgon Microwave system makes it the preferred choice for WiMAX and UMTS TDD players. Customers report that it is the only microwave radio system which maintains its throughput under high load and at small packet sizes in their tests, where others can lose more than 30% against promised capacity.
