Rare Support Team Appearing at Esalen Institute

A Weekend Seminar: April 7-9, 2006 -- SURVIVAL: Taking back your life. Moving forward after losing a partner. Co-facilitated by Gary & Kathy Young.

Big Sur, CA (PRWEB) March 11, 2006 -- The nationally prominent support team, Gary and Kathy Young conducts a ten-hour weekend workshop for Esalen Institute at Big Sur, CA, April 7-9, 2006. The factor that makes the Youngs stand out is that they are the only nationally recognized Grief and Loss Support leaders that speak to men and women on the lay level. Their expert status is not cloaked in psychological jargon; they speak from study, experience, and from the heart, and they both suffered such losses at an early age.

Their main focus support loss that people suffer below the age of fifty, but the workshop is geared to help any kind of loss, for any age.

The workshop takes place in the beautiful setting of California’s Big Sur. The approach is very individualized and warm. No issues are strange or unusual to the Youngs, and they are adept at creating an inviting environment.

Their book, “Loss and Found: Surviving the Loss of a Young Partner,” is recommended reading at colleges through the doctoral level, but the words are clear and true. Psychologists have endorsed the book, as has the NYPD, LAPD, Parents without Partners, 911 Survivors, and many others. The workshop is accredited for psychologists and LCSW.

The death of a partner can affect you in illogical, unpredictable ways, for an unpredictable length of time. Myths exist about the condition of grief and loss. Reality, nurturing, and support are needed. The issues are many and the work toward recovery is difficult.

This uplifting seminar will heighten your spirituality and engage your confidence. You are not alone.

The dates are April 7-9, 2006 (ten hours total). Esalen Institute is located on Route 1 at Big Sur, about two hours South of San Francisco and about four hours North of Los Angeles. The cost depends on which meal/lodging plan is chosen, plus whether or not you choose to participate in other programs. The range is approximately $260-$550 for the weekend, including room and board. Work-study program is available.

For more information about the workshop or Esalen, please call toll-free (866)-238-2840.
