Should Sex On Sunday's Music Be Banned: Researchers Claim Sex On Sunday's Mind Altering Music Is Both A Drug And Aphrodisiac

California band Scott West & Sex On Sunday have been accused of using music as a drug with a technology called FFR or Frequency Following Response. Researchers claim that the tonal (frequency) and beat patterns of the new Sex On Sunday album include those identical to NORP or Nitric Oxide Release Patterns associated with the release of sex hormones in humans. The double blind study showed that female respondents preferred Sex On Sunday's music containing NORP by a ratio of two-to-one over their favorite musical genres.
We found patterns in sections of Standing On The Moon, I Could Never Go For You, Keep It Clean, Oh Boy, Pair Of Angels and Room 413 that were identical to female NORP patterns.

Sacramento, California (PRWEB) March 21, 2006 -- California Band Scott West & Sex On Sunday are alleged to have been using a technology called FFR or Frequency Following Response. FFR is the human brain’s natural tendency to follow the sound and beat patterns that it hears. These brain wave patterns then literally induce physiological changes in the human body.

Researchers claim that the tonal (frequency) and beat patterns of the new Sex On Sunday album include those identical to NORP or Nitric Oxide Release Patterns associated with the release of sex hormones and sexual stimulation in humans. Researchers claim Sex On Sunday had to have used female human EKG NORP patterns to get such a perfect correlation of female NORP in their musical arrangements.

Research expert Richard Allen commented, "We found patterns in sections of Standing On The Moon, I Could Never Go For You, Keep It Clean, Oh Boy, Pair Of Angels and Room 413 that were identical to female NORP patterns." Allen added, "There is no way that Sex On Sunday could have just accidently made these exact NORP patterns (tonal and beat patterns) during the chorus and hook sections of each Sex On Sunday song." Researchers claim that by isolating and looping the NORP patterns in Sex On Sunday’s music, they were able to create full stimulation in the females that they tested.

When contacted for comment Sex On Sunday’s publicist George Goldstein said that he had not heard of any research involving Sex On Sunday’s music and stated that Scott West's music “should be judged on its musical, lyrical and creative content, not unsubstantiated research. The notion that someone should isolate any one pattern of Sex On Sunday's music and loop it continually seems a bit mundane. Sex On Sunday's music on the radio, internet and their CD is in a form that includes entire songs, not repeated sections. If the research says this makes it more pleasing and preferable in its song form, what is wrong with that?” Goldstein stated that “All music creates physiological changes in our bodies. The fact that Sex On Sunday might have patterns in their songs that are also very consistent with NORP does not make their music a drug." Goldstein added, "The popularity and association of Sex On Sunday's song ROOM 413 at Spring Break parties probably has more to do with this than any research. The notion that Sex On Sunday's music should be censored or banned is crazy. This is the same group that criticized Sex On Sunday for their band name.”

According to Goldstein, "Sex On Sunday’s song ROOM 413 has been down loaded to computers and IPODs all over the country and is a Spring Break favorite this year. The reason Sex On Sunday is being targetted by the Allen Group has more to do with their affilaition with Spring Break events and radio exposure for Room 413." Researchers from the Allen Group claim Room 413 is catchy because of the NORP patterns repeated during its hook guitar line and choruses.

The results of the double blind study conducted in Sacramento, California suggested that even those that did not like Sex On Sunday’s musical genres, preferred Sex On Sunday’s music over that of the genres that they most frequently listened.

The study found that respondents thought Scott West & Sex On Sunday sounded closest to the Alternative and Adult Contemporary artists such as Coldplay and Californian singer / songwriter Don Henley, but female respondents favoring hip hop, rap, metal and country all preferred Sex On Sunday's music over their favorite genres by a ratio of two-to-one. One hundred female respondents between the ages of 18 and 34 were randomly chosen and asked to identify their favorite genres of music. 23 cited the genre associated with Sex On Sunday's music, while 87 preferred the music of Sex On Sunday with NORP over their favorite genre. The four most popular songs on bilboard last week from each respondents favorite genre were given to the respondents to listen to and to compare to Sex On Sunday's songs Standing On The Moon, Room 413, I Could Never Go For You and Keep It Clean.
