Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) March 18, 2006 -- The Human Capital Institute (HCI), a global professional association and educator in talent management strategies, and Lominger Limited Inc., a leading development resource firm, announced today that Lominger will sponsor HCI's Next Generation Leadership Development learning and research track. The track is one of several topics addressed in HCI's Talent Leadership community of interest, a community HCI considers critical to organizations working to build competitive advantage.

"Although some individual leadership traits may be inherent, complete leadership ability is the result of careful development," said Allan Schweyer, HCI's Executive Director. "We're pleased that Lominger, a leader in integrated resource development, is supporting this track aimed at helping employers better understand the many facets of leadership development so they can implement programs that are truly effective."

Today, it is widely recognized that leadership is far more complex than an "either you have it or you don't" paradigm. Traits such as openness to learning, emotional intelligence, effective communications, and superb talent management are becoming as important as financial acuity, marketing savvy, and charisma.

The Next Generation Leadership Development track focuses on leadership development as a critical plank in competitive advantage, and in future-proofing an organization. The track has a panel of expert advisors who will examine key leadership competencies, as well as new methods, trends, and best practices in leadership development. Webcasts, white papers, education, and other resources provide human capital professionals with information they need to effectively develop today's workforce.

"Employers that understand the competencies and performance dimensions of leadership, and develop individuals with attention to these competencies and dimensions, have significant advantage over their competitors," said Robert Eichinger, Lominger's Chief Executive Officer. "We're pleased to support the Human Capital Institute's efforts in this area."
