PicksPal.com Provides Picking Refuge to the Bracket-Busted

PicksPal.com’s Hoops 1001 Contest offers the bracket busted masses a second chance at tournament bracket glory.

Mountain View (PRWEB) March 20, 2006 -- With several favored seeds exiting early in the Men’s Basketball Tournament , millions of college hoops fans’ brackets have already been busted. But for anyone who picked Syracuse, Oklahoma, Nevada or Iowa in the first round, there’s still hope because PicksPal.com’s Hoops 1001 Contest is anything but a traditional tournament bracket.

Anyone can join the free Hoops 1001 Contest at any point during any round of the tournament. Where conventional brackets require people to pick every game at the beginning of the tournament, PicksPal.com’s Hoops 1001 Contest gives every player 5000 points for each round to keep the game going from the first round to the championship game.

will JJ Redick make more three-pointers than the opposing team?
In addition to the game’s winner and the over/under picks, Hoops 1001 players can also choose from up to 50 fun and exotic props for each game, such as “how many buzzer beaters there will be today” or “will JJ Redick make more three-pointers than the opposing team?”

Another aspect that sets the Hoops 1001 Contest apart from ordinary brackets is the inclusion of the point spread into game picks. Since Duke had to cover a 25.5 point-spread in the first round versus Southern, more than 70% of PicksPal.com members correctly picked against Duke. PicksPal.com members also picked against tournament favorite Connecticut to cover their 22.5 point-spread against Albany in first-round action. So far so good for the majority of PicksPal.com members as they continue to rack up points towards big tournament prizes.

The Hoops 1001 Contest is the only tournament bracket that features round-by-round prizes in addition to an overall grand prize. At the end of each round, the player with the most points is awarded an iPod Nano, while the overall tournament champion will win a 42-inch flat panel HDTV. With fresh points each round over the course of 1001 picks, the prizes are never too far out of reach, even for those who have had their traditional brackets busted in the first few rounds.
