The Labor Depot Becomes a Permanent Player in Temporary Staffing

Growing staffing firm experiencing great succcess.

Brick, NJ (PRWEB) March 20, 2006 -- The newest player in the temporary staffing industry, The Labor Depot, is quickly making a permanent mark on this growing business sector, recently opening a second office in Pennsauken, New Jersey, and a third in Roselle Park, New Jersey. This follows the firm’s previous announcement of a business partnership in Chennai, India, for U.S.-based recruitment and placement, and a growth plan that targets opening two-dozen additional facilities.

The Labor Depot has been in operation for approximately seven months. Since opening its doors in August of 2005, the firm has placed nearly 1000 employees with more than 75 client companies. The company’s early success reflects its business philosophy of placing equal importance on both clients and employees, unique within an industry that generally focuses on low-cost placement and high fulfillment rates, according to The Labor Depot President, Stephen Signorile.

That is not an approach that leads to maintaining relationships – neither between our clients and our employees, nor between our clients and employees and our business
“Our formula for becoming a successful and permanent player in the temporary staffing business is to ensure a good fit between employer and employee,” Signorile said. “This results in the placement of qualified and reliable personnel with our business partners and quality employment for our people. That, in turn, leads to repeat business and a continuing inflow of quality employees.”

There are more than 6,000 temporary staffing agencies in the United States. Temporary and contract staffing has gained popularity among employers in today’s competitive business environment because it offers savings, flexibility and administrative convenience. In the fiscal quarter ending August 30, 2005, U.S. staffing firms employed an average of 2.7 million temporary and contract workers per day, and American businesses spent $16.9 billion during the quarter for their services, according to the American Staffing Association.

As a rule, temporary workers remain employees of the staffing firms. This offers businesses savings in employment costs, including benefits and administration; the flexibility to quickly retool staffs; and administrative convenience, as temporary staffing firms do all the leg work of searching for and screening employees, and often offer payroll services.

The Labor Depot sets itself apart from other staffing firms through its ongoing relationships with both clients and employees, according to Signorile.

Companies are attracted to The Labor Depot by its variety of services, Signorile said. These include:

Reliability – Qualified, reliable personnel for all staffing needs.
Flexibility – Temporary staffing – from one to 100 – through a variety of contract options.
Convenience – Payroll servicing and outsourced administration.
Cost-Savings – Elimination of the costs relating to full-time employees.
Security – Background checks and credential reviews.
Industry Knowledge – In-depth understanding of client industries and individual positions.

“At The Labor Depot we do not simply fill orders,” Signorile said. “We become business partners with our clients, providing reliable personnel who fit their needs and quality service that creates a lasting relationship. We understand their businesses – we’ve had the calluses. We do not provide the lowest-priced staffing; we provide the most reliable.”

According to Signorile, workers are attracted to The Labor Depot by the firm’s commitment to its employees and the quality opportunities the firm offers. These include:

Competitive Wages – Competitive wages to attract quality employees.
On-Line Application
Permanent Employment Opportunities
Quality Workplaces – Clients committed to maintaining professional workplace standards.
Quality Coworkers – Coworkers determined to be reliable, honest and committed.
Quality Employer – An employer that invests resources in its employees.

“Every Labor Depot employee is an ambassador of our organization,” Signorile said. “Therefore, we must attract and retain quality people by providing them with an atmosphere that proves rewarding for their career development.”

This business strategy of placing equal value on client and employee is working for The Labor Depot because it is unique in an industry which often views filling openings quickly as the end-all and considers employees bulk commodities, Signorile said.

“That is not an approach that leads to maintaining relationships – neither between our clients and our employees, nor between our clients and employees and our business,” he said. “And we intend to be a permanent player in the temporary staffing industry by maintaining relationships.”
