Tournament Cinderella Teams Staying at the Big Dance Well Past Midnight at PicksPal.com

Underdogs have yet to disappoint majority of PicksPal.com members.

Mountain View, CA (PRWEB) March 22, 2006 -- Fans of Bradley, George Mason and Wichita St. are hoping thousands of PicksPal.com members pick their schools to get past the sweet 16 in the men’s college basketball tournament.

So far the majority of PicksPal.com’s Hoops 1001 players have correctly predicted three of the biggest upsets in the tournament: Bradley over Pittsburgh, Wichita St. over Tennessee and George Mason over North Carolina. This might be because the Hoops 1001 Contest considers the point spread in its bracket picks, so PicksPal.com players’ hoops knowledge will be put to the test again in Thursday’s even odds game between George Mason and Wichita St.

will JJ Redick make more 3-pointers than the entire LSU team?
PicksPal.com lets anyone join its free Hoops 1001 Contest during any round of the tournament, so like these Cinderella teams, everyone always has a chance at tournament glory. In true underdog fashion, anyone could surprise the tens of thousands of Hoops 1001 players to win the contest’s grand prize: a 42-inch flat panel HDTV.

As of Tuesday afternoon, 54% of Hoops 1001 players favored George Mason to advance to the elite eight and play the Connecticut/Washington winner. This will be the third round in which Hoops 1001 players have the opportunity to win round-by-round prizes (iPods) or accumulate their points for the grand prize.

The Hoops 1001 Contest allows for round-by-round prizes because unlike traditional brackets, it does not require every game to be picked at the beginning of the tournament. Instead, players can put any of their 5000 per-round-points on any game of their choice.

Another unique aspect of the Hoops 1001 Contest is the multitude of fun and exotic picks available for each game. Aside from the game’s winner and over/under, players can choose from up to 50 props such as “will JJ Redick make more 3-pointers than the entire LSU team?” or “will either team make a successful dunk in the first 2 minutes of the game?”

On their way to prizes, the Hoops 1001 Contest’s exclusive features allow its players to experience an unprecedented level of interaction with their tournament brackets. As hoops fans watch their team compete for tournament glory, they can feel the rush of playing for prizes and tournament glory themselves.

If the majority of Hoops 1001 players are right again, George Mason fans can look forward to another round of play. But with 66% of players picking Memphis to cover their six-point spread against Bradley that Cinderella’s glass slipper might fall off this Thursday.
