Nebraska’s Roca Country Inn Featured in Bed & Breakfast America Magazine – Spring 2006

Roca Country Inn announced today that their B&B has been featured in a national publication which caters to Bed and Breakfast lovers. Bed and Breakfast America, “The magazine of Premier Inns acrossAmerica”, is published six times per year. It limits it's features to some of the more fascinating Bed and Breakfast experiences across America.

(PRWEB) March 25, 2006 -- The Roca Country Inn (http://www.rocacountryinn.com), located in the tiny village of Roca, in southern Lancaster County, just 13 miles from the southern edge of Lincoln, Nebraska, has gotten local attention as a unique and relaxing destination for those who want to get away from it all, but this is it’s first exposure in the national limelight.

Built as a Blacksmith Shop in 1879, the building that houses the Inn, is a historically significant structure. It has been an important part of the community of Roca, as a store and a meeting place and is the only remaining structure on Main Street from the time when Roca was a bustling town with three major limestone quarries, a couple of Banks, and three rustic hotels.

The owners, Linda and Phil Cochran renovated this unusual piece of history over a period of six years to become a fascinating and soothing stop with a warm, Early American primitive decor. The couple has been operating the Inn since October of 2004. The Inn, which is the entire second floor of the building, presents an atmosphere, much the same as it might have been in the late 1800's.

The comfortable surroundings, including the flickering fire, sooth away the cares of any day. The breakfasts are tasty, unique and plentiful. There are always snacks nearby for the evening, and if you are there to celebrate a birthday or anniversary, an Italian Cream cake or your favorite layer cake awaits you.

The first floor of the building is a store which offers shoppers another delightful experience: Sweet Annie's Primitives. This unique shop offers many “one of a kind” primitive antiques and gifts. Sweet Annie's has a definite “New England” feel, with moderate prices and some “real bargains” for the thrifty-minded customer. The shop is open on Saturdays all day or by request.

This summer, the Homestead Trail along the old UP rail line, from Lincoln to Beatrice and on to Marietta, Kansas, will be finished and provide another opportunity to enjoy this relaxing place. The Trail passes along the western edge of Roca and will be a beautiful bike ride for Lincoln families.
