QuantumClean® Acquires Environ-Clean Technology, Expands Coverage to National Semiconductor Market
Leading outsourced parts cleaning provider for the semiconductor industry is first to offer national coverage.
DUBLIN, Penn. (PRWEB) April 5, 2006 – QuantumClean, the leading provider of outsourced parts cleaning for the semiconductor industry, today announced that it has acquired Environ-Clean Technology from Saint-Gobain (Euronext: SGO). Saint-Gobain is a multinational corporation and a world leader in engineered materials. Founded in 1665, Saint-Gobain is headquartered in France and operates throughout the world with sales of more than $40 billion. Environ-Clean Technology was part of Saint-Gobain’s Semiconductor Components Group. QuantumClean acquired Environ-Clean Technology to anchor QuantumClean’s expansion into each of the key U.S. regional semiconductor markets.
“The acquisition positions QuantumClean as the only provider of outsourced parts cleaning with comprehensive regional coverage in the U.S.,” said Scott Nicholas, President of QuantumClean. “The company now boasts regional full-service Advanced Technology Cleaning Centers® in every major U.S. semiconductor market including: San Jose, Calif,; Washougal, Wash.; Phoenix, Ariz.; Colorado Springs, Colo.; Dallas, Texas; and South Portland, Maine.”
Customers will benefit immediately from the acquisition. Large semiconductor manufacturers with plants in multiple locations will no longer have to ship parts to distant service centers or contract with multiple outsourced parts cleaning providers. Access to regional service centers in every major semiconductor market reduces turnaround time, shrinks tool inventory, and mitigates the risk of damaged parts.
“This acquisition greatly enhances our value to customers,” says Maceo Ward, Director of Global Sales and Marketing for QuantumClean. “Our primary purpose for acquiring Environ-Clean Technologies was to increase regional service availability to customers like Texas Instruments, Freescale, ST Microelectronics, IBM, Intel, National Semiconductor, Tokyo Electron America, and others. By building value for our customers, we are building value for QuantumClean.”
Ward expects QuantumClean to continue its strong growth trend as the company gears up to expand services and increase market penetration. “Our customers are telling us where to take the company, and we are listening to them.”
