International business expert Laurel Delaney will lead the globalization workshop entitled, “Building Bridges to the World: Global Opportunities and Challenges” at the Women Presidents’ Organization (WPO) 2006 Annual Conference. The invitation only conference will be held at the Ritz-Carlton in Chicago on April 27-29.

“The Building Bridges to the World” workshop will focus on how globalization impacts business. The presenting panel is comprised of global business experts and successful women business owners who will provide tips on how to adapt businesses to foreign competition, how to be aware of opportunities in the global marketplace and how to deal with common pitfalls when going global.

"We are very excited that Laurel is leading the globalization workshop,” said Marsha Firestone, President of WPO. “Her work in the area of global business, especially as the recipient of SBA’s Exporter of the Year Award, will greatly benefit our attendees, who are increasingly looking overseas for opportunities.”

Delaney, CEO of Chicago-based GlobeTrade.com and WPO board member, offers management consulting and marketing solutions designed to help entrepreneurs and small businesses go global.

“An increasing number of women-owned businesses are taking an interest in globalization,” remarked Delaney. “The globalization workshop will transform how women business owners conduct their business across borders and I’m excited to work with the Women Presidents’ Organization and help lead the global revolution. In fact, in the future there will be two kinds of enterprises: those that go global and those that die. Let’s face it, if you have not gone global, you and your business just might be on the verge of extinction.”
