Symmetricom Announces User Group Focusing on Precise Sync and Timing Requirements of Next-Generation Applications

User Group will take place on May 23, 2006 in Franklin, TN prior to Telcordia National Sync Workshop on May 24-25, 2006.

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) April 20, 2006 -- Symmetricom, Inc. (NASDAQ: SYMM), a worldwide leader in precise time and frequency products and services, today announced a user group to be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2006 in Franklin, TN that will focus on applications-oriented technical tutorials led by technologists and application engineers. Feature topics will incorporate next generation network technologies including Universal Timing Interface (UTI), Network Time Protocol (NTP) and IEEE 1588 and how they relate to synchronization requirements. The user group will precede the twentieth annual Telcordia National Synchronization Workshop to be held on Wednesday, May 24 – Thursday, May 25, 2006.

“As service providers prepare their network infrastructure to meet the precise sync and timing requirements of next-generation applications, there are specific implementation issues to consider,” Nancy Shemwell, senior vice president, sales and service at Symmetricom. “While the National Sync Workshop will focus on the strategic drivers for synchronization, the Symmetricom User Group will focus on tactical issues. Featured presentations will include ways to engineer your network to meet the most stringent QoS requirements regardless of the mix of services being carried over any broadband transmission medium.”

Timing and frequency experts from Symmetricom will also present at the National Synchronization Workshop, a two-day event that brings together synchronization experts from network service providers, as well as synchronization equipment suppliers for tutorials and presentations on non-proprietary topics of interest to service provider synchronization networks

"We are proud to be part of the twentieth annual National Synchronization Workshop,” continued Shemwell. “The workshop provides an opportunity for service providers and supplier attendees to discuss synchronization-related issues, share information of common interest and learn from each other by sharing real-life network issues. Telcordia has broadened the scope of the workshop over the last two decades and continues to look for leaders in synchronization that will bring value and experience in precise timing and frequency to their attendees.”

During the Symmetricom User Group, timing and frequency experts will also lead "know how" sessions given in an interactive format, and attendees will have the opportunity to share real-life experiences and issues.
