Directo Paycards Ease Payday Stress For Temp Workers

Staffing industry growth spurs direct deposit usage.

Atlanta, Ga. (PRWEB) April 25, 2006 -– Directo, a leading provider of paycards for unbanked consumers, announces that Chase Staffing has selected the firm to meet its employees’ direct deposit needs.

Chase, a rapidly growing staffing company focused in the southeastern United States, provides direct deposit to 68% of its employees, a figure that continues to climb. For Chase, offering a paycard to its employees has become an imperative, and Atlanta-based Directo, Inc., was the natural choice as service provider.

"Directo drives our direct deposit engine," says Debi Brusehaber, Purchasing Manager for Chase Staffing. "For employees who don't have bank accounts, it's great to be able to offer them one when they sign up for employment. Plus, Directo’s implementation team was outstanding so that we were up and running in no time.”

Employees work for the $18.5 billion dollar a year staffing industry because of the flexibility it offers, allowing them to take time off between assignments, an important consideration for those with sick relatives or small children. Some employees simply like the excitement of changing assignments whenever they want. However, a growing number agree that having direct deposit is a must no matter where they work.

“I feel confined if I work at one place for more than three months so I like the flexibility a staffing company offers,” said Jane Holliwell, who works for Manpower. "However, I'm too busy to run out to the bank and cash my check. The great thing about direct deposit is that I can call the toll-free number on the back of my Directo card and know my pay has hit the bank. Direct deposit makes payday a whole lot easier."

Chase Staffing's Debi Brusehaber, agrees. “We used to hop in our cars and deliver payroll checks to all the companies we did business with, while back at headquarters the receptionist was swamped by people coming to pick up their checks. It was hectic.”

The Directo pay card has been a big part of that success. For employees who do not have a bank account, a Directo account can be opened at the job site, and the debit card attached and handed to them all at the same time. On payday, the funds are in the account first thing in the morning eliminating the need to wait for a check or standing in line to cash it.

This year, the program’s success has encouraged Chase to take that convenience a step farther. They are mandating direct deposit for all new hires. According to Ms. Brusehaber, Directo’s customer service has been outstanding. “Our Directo contacts are very responsive and the company is extremely easy to work with.”

“We pride ourselves on that distinction,” said Jim McCarthy, Senior VP of Sales for Directo. “It’s one of our core values. For an employee, giving their payroll over to direct deposit and opening a paycard account can be the cause of anxiety. We know our customers, and we offer them uncompromising customer service.”
