Subscribers set up an account with contact information for family, friends and employers; if the subscriber chooses to evacuate, he or she simply calls the toll-free number, and contacts are automatically notified. HurricaneEvac also offers a product designed for businesses to help them keep track of their employees after a hurricane.
The $34.95 HurricaneEvac annual subscription includes unlimited access via the Web as well as use of an automated toll-free number. Individuals and businesses can enroll online anytime after May 15th with a major credit card.
Davis, who has been featured on local news, is already getting positive feedback from Floridians who plan to enroll right away. "I wanted to develop something that could help everyone during a time of great stress,” says Davis.
