INTERNATIONAL 450 ASSOCIATION and CITEL Sign Cooperation Agreement
IA450 and CITEL to further the harmonious development of telecommunications in the Americas.
Moscow, Russia and Washington, DC, USA (PRWEB) April 29, 2006 -- International 450 Association (IA450), a non profit international organization for the promotion of CDMA2000 utilization in the 450 MHz Band, and the Inter-American Telecommunication Commission (CITEL) of the Organization of American States, an organization working for the continuous development of telecommunications in the Western Hemisphere, announced a Cooperative Agreement to further the harmonious development of telecommunications in the Americas.
The collaborative relationship between IA450 and CITEL will focus on cooperation areas of common interests within the scope of both organizations' objectives such as wireless technologies, services and applications, spectrum policies and planning, regulation, use of wireless technologies to support social and economic development, rural Internet services, fixed wireless access services, and universal services especially in developing countries.
CITEL Executive Secretary, Clovis Baptista stated, CITEL will work with IA450 by exchanging information and making the best use of available resources for various important projects and activities."
Vadim Belyavskiy, IA450 Chairman, commented, "It is an important step in addressing the needs of the countries in the Americas for affordable and advanced telecommunication services. It opens the opportunity for CDMA450 community to facilitate the adoption of the technology in the region for mobile and fixed wireless applications.
