Mark Gruenspecht and Tim Hopper Receive U.S. Patent for their Innovative RF Welding Machine

(PRWEB) April 29, 2006 -- 3KRF LLC of Largo, Florida provides frequency sealing systems for a wide range of applications. Its newly patented RF welder relates to packaging machines, and more particularly relates to sealers used in horizontal form, fill and seal packaging machines. Owner, Mark Gruenspecht and managing partner, Tim Hopper, launched this next generation of RF welding machinery. Gruenspecht states “3KRF received the patent on March 14, 2006 knowing this technology will revolutionize the industry. After many years of waiting for the patent, it feels great knowing our machine has received this recognition!”

The background of this invention embodies machines that utilize Radio Frequency as the means for welding (RF Welders). These RF welders are typically used for sealing and embossing appliqué on RF sealable materials. Such materials are commonly used in processing materials such as PVC, PU, PET, PETG and polyolefin. For example, welders process these materials in manufacturing of items such as vinyl envelopes and binders having internal pockets. These pockets are sealed to the binder on the first and second side edges and a bottom edge, leaving a top edge open for egress. “RF welding of the edges obviates the need for stitches, therefore saving the manufacturer time,” says Hopper.

This patented RF welding machine, using Solid State technology allows a very high quality product to be produced without material losses. Its’ circuitry automatically tunes the impedance of die and material so that the generator is capable of continually producing a predetermined amount of resistance. Also, this RF welder is capable of continually providing power at a predetermined frequency. Some materials weld better with differing frequencies or respond better to variable frequencies, such as frequencies that ramp downwardly through the welding or embossing process to account for material property changes through the welding process. The physical characteristics of alternating frequencies will be apparent, though not obvious, to those knowledgeable in the art.

Simply stated, features of this innovative RF welding machine include a unique die protection system, crystal oscillator technology—meaning no more oscillator tubes, pre-calibration, and virtually no maintenance. Its solid state technology cuts set-up time by 75%, uses minimal power, is auto tuning, and has a plug and play system. “Clients using this machine are thrilled with its’ quality, efficiency and ease of use,” says Hopper. He further states that “this machine is EC compatible, meaning manufacturers in Europe can take advantage of this new technology along with the rest of the world.” More information on this newly patented machine can be found at the company’s website, www.3krf.com.
