Opening of "The Color of Freedom" by Artist Shanoor Held at Shimmery Gallery

The opening of artist Shanoor's art exhibition was on Saturday April 22, 2006 at Shimmery Gallery, Munster Indiana. "The Color of Freedom" is a collection of twenty-eight paintings and prints currently being exhibited. The exhibition will be on display at the Shimmery from April 22 till May 22 20006.

Munster, Indiana (PRWEB) April 30, 2006 -- Shanoor has created an incredible body of work that is a tribute to this nations dreams and aspirations! Shanoor's latest visual tribute to freedom has impacted on all who view his work. The heart of the Color of Freedom lies in those who lived, breathed and died for the freedom of expression and democracy that we hold dear today.

By taking these icons and framing them in the light and perspective of this modern era, Shanoor draws the general conceptions of these figures away to allow the viewer a deeper empathic understanding. Among the plethora of color were the four major attractions, spanning back through time Jefferson, Lincoln, Elvis and Martin Luther King Jr., greeted the public with colors reflecting their passion. In his unique vision Shanoor saw each icon standing on the shoulders of another. Jefferson and the Founding fathers are the bedrock of expression, that Lincoln stood upon and defended this country beside in spirit.

Martin Luther King Jr. stood upon Lincoln's abolishment to refine equality, while Elvis used them all to throw off the shackles of musical censorship. In each painting an untold number of emotions lay in scintillation as the colors used to create them, and those who gathered at the opening felt the blend of passion and reverence that tempered Shanoors hand. We hope that all who are able to look upon them draw as much compassion and healing from them as was felt on the opening eve.
