WorldSentiment.com Poll Accurately Predicted American Idol Outcome One Hour After The April 25th Contestants’ Performances -- 22 Hours Before Fox TV

WorldSentiment.com is a public opinion social networking site where people can share their opinions by posing and voting on questions and polls. Within one hour of the contestants completing their performances on Tuesday, April 25th, the results of the WorldSentiment.com poll “Who will be voted off American Idol on April 26th?” settled into a ranking that accurately matched the results announced by Fox 22 hours later. WorldSentiment.com visitors will be able to see the predicted results of the May 2nd performances within hours of the performances and well in advance of Fox TV results airing on May 3rd.

Monarch Beach, Calif. (PRWEB) April 30, 2006 -- The public opinion oriented social networking site WorldSentiment.com is proving that opinion polls created by users on the site accurately predict the outcome of audience opinion contests such as American Idol.

Within one hour of the American Idol contestants’ performances on Tuesday April 25, thousands of WorldSentiment.com users had answered the question “Who will be voted off American Idol on April 26th?”. – the results accurately matched what was ultimately announced 22 hours later by Fox TV:

Chris Daughtry – 4%
Katherine McPhee – 5%
Taylor Hicks – 15.5%
Elliott Yamin – 14.5%
Paris Bennett – 17%
Kellie Pickler – 44%

In addition to contestant Kellie Pickler being voted off, Fox reported that Paris Bennett had the least number of votes behind Pickler. Katherine McPhee and Chris Daughtry were the pair with the highest number of votes with Taylor Hicks and Elliott Yamin in the middle. All of which accurately matched the ranking predicted by WorldSentiment.com 22 hours earlier.

“Immediately after the performances, users began streaming to the site to vote and it was quickly clear what the results would be long before Fox TV would air them the following day.” said WorldSentiment.com co-creator Fred Thiel.

Visitors to WorldSentiment.com can vote on the May 2nd American Idol contestant performance poll “Who will be voted off American Idol on May 3rd?” during and immediately after the show. Furthermore, visitors can also vote on the final winner poll. WorldSentiment.com plans to announce their predictions based on both polls a few hours after the performances are aired on May 2nd, and well in advance of Fox TV’s program on May 3rd.

About WorldSentiment.com

WorldSentiment.com, the creation of Helium Web Works co-founders Fred Thiel and Price Givens, takes a different approach to social networking by creating an online community where people of all ages and interests can interact with other like-minded members by simply voting on polls created by members – or creating polls of their own for others to answer.

WorldSentiment.com visitors can browse the site and vote on other members’ polls or sign-up for a free account and create their own polls. Members that create their own polls can also easily invite friends, family or even business colleagues and constituents to visit their personal poll page on WorldSentiment.com to vote on polls they create. This feature is used by thousands of individuals, companies and public servants to gauge public opinion on important issues or just for entertainment.

WorldSentiment.com also provides special proprietary technologies that allow users to find other users who have similar opinions. SentiMatch™ technology compares members to each other and ranks them by how often they agree based on all the questions they both answered and the similarity of their answers. The higher someone’s SentiMatch™ score, the more they share your opinion. This allows members to add like-minded members to their WorldSentiment.com buddy-lists, IM and share their personal profile pages where each member’s questions and answers are displayed together with a simple and easy to use personal blog. Furthermore, members can send questions via email to non-members outside of the community with an invitation for them to come and answer their question.
