New Introductory Trading & Investing Book Becomes Amazon.com 'Top Seller'

John Forman's new book, The Essentials of Trading, became an Amazon.com 'Top Seller' virtually overnight. The book is based on Forman's near two decades of experience in the financial markets and his work teaching the material in the college classroom.

(PRWEB) April 30, 2006 -- This time last year, John Forman was just starting work on a book that was to eventually become The Essentials of Trading- From the Basics to Building a Winning Strategy. It took John, a near twenty year veteran of trading and investing in the markets, about four months to bring it all together.

The result is perhaps the best introductory book currently available on the market today. Just ask Brett Steenbarger, a highly regarded figure in trader development and author of The Psychology of Trading. He commented on John's book: "This is the book I wish I had when I began a training program for new traders. John’s familiarity with trading and traders is evident in this text."

The Essentials of Trading was actually written based not only on John's personal and professional market experience, but also on his work over the last several years teaching trading to university finance students in a classroom environment. Although such students have a basic understanding of financial theory, none had any real knowledge of, or experience in. trading. John necessarily started from the ground up with them, and carried that approach over in to the book. The combination of not assuming that the reader has any grounding in trading or investing and not focusing on one particular market makes The Essentials of Trading a unique offering in the array of books available on the topic trading and investing.

After agreeing to a deal with the well respected publishing house John Wiley & Sons, John went through to process of submission, editting and proofing the book over the course of several months. The Essentials of Trading was finally released just a couple of weeks ago. Already it has made a splash.

Thanks in part to a very special incentive offer worked out with a group of partners the book's introduction was a notable success. Much to his editor's delight, orders for John's book came in from all over the world, making The Essentials of Trading an Amazon.com Business & Investing 'Top Seller' almost literally overnight. What's next for John (who also has articles published in the May editions of both SFO and Technica Analysis of Stocks & Commodities magazines)? A little well deserved time off, to be sure!

John is an educator at heart, though. Look for him to be back sharing his knowledge and experience once more before long.
