MonsterCommerce Wins Award for One of the “Best Places to Work” in St. Louis

Conducted by the St. Louis Business Journal, “Best Places to Work” award program recently named MonsterCommerce 2nd place in their category. The company’s commitment to their unique and spirited culture has earned them this coveted award.

(PRWEB) May 5, 2006 -— When you first walk into the reception area, it’s hard not to notice the oversized gilded portrait of a particularly distinguished-looking purple monster. He is the official representative of the unique and vibrant culture that has earned MonsterCommerce the award of “Best Place to Work”.

Located in Belleville, IL, MonsterCommerce has placed 2nd in a category that is made up of companies with 50-199 employees. The awards program is presented by the St. Louis Business Journal and has a total of 5 categories for different sized employers. Nearly 150 companies were considered for the entire St. Louis, Missouri “Best Places to Work” program.

MonsterCommerce sets the bar high, but employees know they can count on reaping the benefits when they achieve their goals.
The voting consisted of employee-completed online forms that covered all aspects of their work experience, such as office culture, benefits, and overall attitude of the company.

Julia Dalton, MonsterMarketplace Representative, is one of the long-time team members of the growing e-commerce company that began in 1998. She is also a board member on the culture committee that the company formed to keep MonsterCommerce’s culture fresh and exciting during its current expansion. She confesses, "I love working at MonsterCommerce because every day is a learning experience. I am continually absorbing information and learning as much as I can from the wealth of information that is available. Not only can you learn a lot from the people here, but also the industry itself is constantly evolving. That makes MC a very exciting and cutting edge place to work."

Along with their health plan that covers dental and vision, their 401K program, and their tuition reimbursement perks, MonsterCommerce offers its employees other benefits not normally seen in the average office. For instance, their employee lounge is painted bright purple and boasts a pool table, foosball table, ping-pong table, and a wide-screen plasma TV.

Company leadership feels these perks are well deserved, and the numbers prove it. In 2005 MonsterCommerce’s annual top line revenue increased over 300%. All employees work hard to meet expectations and achieve business goals to earn these company-wide benefits.

The office lounge houses a cooler that is regularly stocked with goodies like fresh-cut vegetables, fruit, and juices that are available for the employees to purchase for 35 cents an item. The money is placed in a purple pig, and instead of going to the company, the funds are donated to a charity that is voted for by the employees as a whole.

The fitness room in the building has machines with individual flat-screen TVs for MonsterCommerce employees to watch cable on while sweating it out in one of the company’s regular fitness challenges.

But the biggest benefit buzz in the office these days are the upcoming summer hours. From Memorial Day until Labor Day, the office will be closing every other Friday at 2pm so that its team members can get to the pool before the sun goes down or enjoy other summer activities.

The coupling of these and other innovative benefits with the enthusiasm and youthful dedication of a rapidly expanding Internet company has made MonsterCommerce one of the “Best Places to Work”. As software QA analyst, Andrea Kuhnel, puts it, “MonsterCommerce sets the bar high, but employees know they can count on reaping the benefits when they achieve their goals."
