The Rust Store Has Some Fun With the Launch of the 'Ugly Tool Contest'

The Rust Store is sponsoring a contest to find the ugliest tool in your shed or toolbox. They want to see your rustiest tools. E-mail a photo of your tool and short essay (less than 100 words) for your chance to win. Winners with the ugliest tools will receive prize packages that will help them restore the beauty and usefulness of their tool.

Madison, WI (PRWEB) May 11, 2006 -- The Rust Store (http://www.TheRustStore.com), a Web-based shop for rust prevention and rust removal products, is having a little light-hearted fun with a typically ugly subject... rust! They just launched the "Ugly Tool Contest", soliciting entries from rusty tool owners across the country.

"We realize that people are none too happy to find rust ruining their once useful tools. For that reason, we wanted to turn an ugly subject into an opportunity for those people that have tools that have fallen victim to the ravages of rust. We think the 'Ugly Tool Contest' is a great way to have a little fun and to offer the winners a solution for their rust problems," said Owner John Carmona.

For those of you who are woodworkers or tool lovers, you can appreciate the beauty of a fine-tuned handplane, or carefully restored saw. Unfortunately, not every tool in the shed or toolbox always appears in that ideal state. Years of use, non-use or neglect can turn a once fine tool into an ugly piece of junk that's incapable of getting the job done. The Rust Store wants to help turn those ugly pieces of junk back into productive and beautiful tools again. They are encouraging consumers to submit a photo of a tool that has fallen victim to the ravages of rust.

The contest begins May 10 and will close on July 31, 2006. The winners will be announced on the web site, www.TheRustStore.com on August 15, 2006. No purchase is necessary to enter. All entries should be e-mailed to rusty@theruststore.com and must include a photo of their ugly tool and a short essay (less than 100 words) of why their tool should win. Winners receive a variety of rust-fighting prize packages that will help turn their ugly tools into beautiful tools again.
