San Bernardino, CA (PRWEB) May 14, 2006 -- Byron Chung, president of The Art Institute of California – Inland Empire, knows that education in this day and age doesn’t come cheap. That’s why the school has awarded nearly $158,000 in scholarships for 16 Inland Empire high school and post-graduate students.
“Each and every one of the recipients in our seven arts-related competitions proved they are definitely worth the school’s investment in them,” Chung said, adding “They each clearly deserve the financial assistance and personal support the scholarships convey.”
High school seniors competed in each of the institute’s five arts-oriented programs of study with each winner awarded a $20,000 scholarship. These included, in Graphic Design, Echo Robison of Yucca Valley High as well as Alyssa Mees of Rialto High; the Interior Design honor went to Heidi Altmeyer from Rim of the World High School in Lake Arrowhead; Media Arts and Animation, the first place scholarship was granted to David Anderson Jr. of Victor Valley High in Victorville; and Hector Becerra of Colony High School in Ontario won the Game Art and Design competition.
Second place winners received $5,000 scholarships and third place recipients received $2,500 for their efforts.
