Invention That Helps Moms Get Back into Shape After Pregnancy Wins 2006 JPMA Innovation Award

9 Months Up, 9 Months Down, LLC, launches The Strollometer ® - the world’s first computer/speedometer designed to fit any stroller.

Great Neck, NY (/PRWEB ) May 14, 2006 -- 9 Months Up, 9 Months Down, LLC - a start-up company devoted to creating fitness innovations for pregnant and post-pregnant Moms – was awarded the prestigious 2006 JPMA Innovation Award for its first product – The Strollometer ®. This eight function wireless computer/speedometer fits any baby stroller whether it’s traditional, deluxe all-terrain, or jogging. Functions include current, average, and maximum speed; trip and daily distance; trip and real clock time; and ambient temperature. The Strollometer ® was unveiled May 8 at the 2006 International JPMA (Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association) Show in Orlando, Florida.

“The Strollometer ® is geared towards Moms who want to get back into shape after pregnancy,” says Adi Weber, President and co-founder of 9 Months Up, 9 Months Down, LLC. "As a mother of three, including a one-year old, I found it almost impossible to find time to workout after my pregnancies. Yet I strolled everywhere. Our hope is that The Strollometer ® will help Moms get more out of every stroll they take - whether it's a powerstroll around the neighborhood or a day doing errands with their baby.”

Designed from the ground up, The Strollometer ® easily straps-on, straps-off any stroller. It fits horizontal and vertical handlebars, plastic mag and spoked wheels, and can be set for wheel sizes as small as 10cm in diameter. The package also contains a pouch to hold The Strollometer ® when detached from the stroller. It holds provisional patents in both utility and design.

9 Months Up, 9 Months Down, LLC was formed in 2005 by a married couple from Great Neck, NY. "There are countless products on the market geared towards a woman while she's pregnant”, explains CEO and co-founder Dan Weber, “Then she gives birth, and the focus suddenly shifts to the baby. Our company is devoted to the mother’s fitness and well-being, and addresses the enormous physical changes she experiences both during and following pregnancy."

The Strollometer ® is distinctive in its contemporary design, and is available in three color combinations: black/green, black/lavender, and blue/black.

The Strollometer ® will be on store shelves in September 2006. Manufacturer’s suggested retail price will be $45.95. Several dozen retailers – including Amazon.com - have already signed on to accept pre-sales before the September delivery date.
