Who Can You Trust: Companies Build Credibility with Stringent Certifications, SAS-70 Audit

AmCheck (http://www.amcheck.com), national provider of Payroll Services and HR Solutions, completed SAS 70 Audit – an internationally recognized auditing standard developed by AICPA, to ensure that data of their allied companies, clients and business partners is safe and secure. With this SAS 70 Certification, AmCheck can be trusted on client’s valuable information while proving them with Payroll, HR and PEO Services.

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) May 26, 2006 --- Verified by a grueling and prestigious certification process, AmCheck, a Phoenix based provider of Payroll Services and Professional Employer Organization (PEO) services has taken successful steps to ensure that the data of their allied companies, clients and business partners is safe and secure. The Statement on Auditing Standards (SAS) No. 70 is an internationally recognized auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). By completing the rigorous SAS 70, AmCheck has demonstrated that it has had its control objectives and control activities examined by an independent accounting and auditing firm.

As AmCheck’s President, Dean Lucente, breaks it down, “It proves to our commitment to internal quality controls is paying off. It proves to our market that we care about our internal controls.” It proves that such care is thorough and that its result is a secure business system.

It proves to our commitment to internal quality controls is paying off. It proves to our market that we care about our internal controls.
Such SAS-70 certification is necessary because it indicates that AmCheck can be trusted with their client’s valuable information while providing them with payroll services and HR solutions. For just as technology has increased efficiency in the business world, it has also created a whole slew of dangerous potentialities - from cyber-snafus to entirely criminal sabotage and identity theft. Even the most mundane of transactions usually require enough information to expose your company to real peril if it were to fall into the wrong hands or find its way into some accidental cyber tar pit. More than ever, the well-meaning people with whom you likely transact commerce are vulnerable to the threats, unintentional or otherwise of the computer age.

SAS No. 70 Audit is generally applicable when an auditor ("user auditor") is auditing the financial statements of an entity ("user organization") that obtains services from another organization ("service organization"). Service organizations that provide such services could be application service providers, bank trust departments, claims processing centers, Internet data centers, or other data processing service bureaus.

As such a service organization, in this case specifically a payroll services and HR solutions provider, AmCheck has been through an in-depth audit of their business control activities, which generally include controls over information technology and related processes, to receive the prestigious SAS 70 certification.

“This assures clients that their information is secure,” says Lucente. “This is about trusting us with your most intimate information.” One way AmCheck limits their exposure, for example, is by processing all their data domestically as opposed to many companies who outsource their data control to other countries. “Our data never crosses international borders,” affirms Lucente. This precaution and others like it have enable AmCheck to qualify for SAS 70, thus assuring business partners and clients that information is safe with AmCheck.

Some of the information above is based on the AICPA’s audit guide entitled “Service Organizations, Applying SAS No. 70, As Amended.”
