Emmy Award-Winning Artist Uses Print-on-Demand Technology to Raise Money for Autism Research in His New Book "Potato Soup"
"Potato Soup" is the story of a frustrated daddy polar bear’s attempts to teach his baby cub about the importance of having a variety of foods in your daily diet.
Burbank, CA (PRWEB) June 1, 2006 -- Animation Director Phil Weinstein in conjunction with Lulu (www.lulu.com), has published his first Children’s Book, "Potato Soup", a learning tool for finicky eaters.
“When my oldest son was in preschool instead of reading a book at night we would make up stories as part of his bedtime routine. "Potato Soup" was just one of many made up stories but it quickly became his favorite. As my son became more familiar with the story he would change the ingredients added to make the soup. Sometimes the strangest combinations would occur. In this way the story became very participatory, and often completely silly. When my second son was diagnosed with autism at the age of two, I found that the interactive nature of the story helped in keeping him engaged and connected to us, a very important component in autism therapy. Now both of my children enjoy telling the story together. I illustrated "Potato Soup" for all kids to share and to help raise money for autism research.”
