Cancer Awareness Bracelets Take on a New Fashion Look

June 22, 2006 at Fox chase Cancer Center the "Be Aware" jewelry collection by Meredith's Unique Gems premiers to the public! These eloquently designed pieces are handcrafted with gemstones which represent head designer, Meredith Twyman's own passion for beauty while solidifying her commitment to bring cancer awareness to the forefront.

"These (jewelry) pieces allow women to support awareness for cancer prevention and treatment with fashionable flair." says Ms. Twyman. "Speaking with many women from different backgrounds, they prefer a more versatile awareness piece able to be worn comfortably either to a casual party or a formal black tie occasion. This collection is our answer to their requests!"

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Unique gems wants to start to educate women of the importance of early testing and other detection practices as self-examinations. "Cancer awareness is important every month of the year!"

The "Be Aware" bracelets are available on line or at local merchants in the near future. Portion of the proceeds will be donated to The American Cancer Society as well as local organizations promoting cancer prevention and treatment. Unique Gems plans to partner with area media and radio outlets to schedule shows through out the Delaware valley and beyond to help in the fight. The company is also availalble for other fundraising events and provides it's collection for sale in hospital gift shops, etc.
