The Black Work @ Home Moms Network Moves Forward with a Vision

While more and more African American Moms are changing their families lives by leaving the workplace and returning home to raise their children and work they are still looking for acceptance within a network that will appreciate their diversity. The Black Work @ Home Moms Network (BWAHM Network) is moving forward with their vision to make this happen. The BWAHM Network is a network that caters to the needs of moms of color.

Marysville, Ca. (PRWEB) June 11, 2006 -- While more and more African American Moms are changing their families lives by leaving the workplace and returning home to raise their children and work they are still looking for acceptance within a network that will appreciate their diversity. The Black Work @ Home Moms Network (BWAHM Network) is moving forward with their vision to make this happen. The BWAHM Network is a network that caters to the needs of moms of color.

As a work at home mom herself, Cleo Anderson, Founder of the BWAHM Network knows first hand that this specific group of women need different degrees of support. “We need support and encouragement at very different times in our businesses because we face some very different expectations and unique situations” explains Ms. Anderson. Our primary mission and purpose is to awaken the senses of women who are looking for motivation, encouragement and support that will aid them in making the decision to work from home, even if it is part-time. We’ve began to go forward with our vision to make The BWAHM Network a place where successful business habits are formed. “Moms who have joined the network are looking for training opportunities and resources and both that are readily available online at www.bwahm.com explains Ms. Anderson.

Having just launched their new member portal, and having gone from a free chat group to a membership driven network The BWAHM Network reflects the seriousness of every black mom who is leaving the workforce to return home and raise their own children. “This is not an opportunity that has been afforded to many of our children in the last 3 generations” says Ms Cleo Anderson. “Our moms have traditionally been forced to work outside of the home dating back from the days of Slavery right into the 20th Century. We are excited to see that our moms are now finding themselves in a position to become work at home moms. The BWAHM Network is a support group for each mom who finds herself in this new position.” Just as it takes training in other job positions, it also takes training to be a successful work at home mom. Ms. Cleo explains “that it was important to change the look and atmosphere of our network, to reflect the seriousness and professionalism of every member involved. It takes money and time to run a networking community such at www.bwahm.com, and we wanted our members to have a hand in building a network they would be proud of.”

“I see the BWAHM Network becoming the #1 organization online and off that caters to the specific needs of Black Work At Home Moms, say’s Beryl Powell, President of the Completely Virtual Group and a member of the BWAHM Network.

When founded in October of 2005 Ms. Anderson noticed the trends with other WAHM groups and felt them not as culturally accepting as they could have been. Many of the members come to the BWAHM Network feeling isolated and want to know that they are not out there alone. The BWAHM Network not only shows members how to build successful alliances within the BWAHM community, but teaches them how to take it beyond what they’ve ever imagined. Kim Milton, a Talk Radio Host on NBBTA.org and member of the BWAHM Network says “The Black Work @ Home Moms Network is doing something that the African American Community needs, they are redefining the meaning of Successful Networking.”

We are not just another mommy play group, we are serious business women. We represent Industries in range from Virtual Assistance, to Coaching to Talk Radio to Publishing. Members cover almost every industry. Black Work At Home Moms are taking their place in the Work At Home Mom community. Moms from all walks of life and all backgrounds are joining the ranks of the home-based business mom. But what makes this move significant is the fact that African American moms are making the transition at a much faster pace. The BWAHM Network recognizes this trend and welcomes all like-minded women who have a serious desire to start and grow their own successful home-based businesses. We believe that general discussions and topics are okay for the hobbyist and the mom who is just dabbling in business. But that same general discussion is not acceptable for serious business women. Members are given the opportunity to take part in training and workshops where they will receive the latest information and training techniques for their field. Ms. Anderson knows that by having knowledge of the latest services and equipment available members will be able to create their own niche. Which is what’ we’ve done with BWAHM Talk Radio. “The BWAHM Network will concentrate their efforts on building alliances and partnerships with those who are as serious about their businesses as we are about building this network,” say’s LaTara Ham-Ying, member of the BWAHM Network and President of MBS Christian Connections for Women, a coaching, consulting, and coordinating service for the work at home mom.
