Free Debt Advice Available From The Debt Counsellors

With personal debt in the UK increasing by £1 million every four minutes, people experiencing financial difficulties can get free debt advice from The Debt Counsellors.

(PRWEB) June 11, 2006 -- Debt advice experts The Debt Counsellors are urging people with financial difficulties to contact them for free debt advice rather than suffer in silence.

According to the latest National Savings & Investments Quarterly Savings Survey, 43% of Britons are worried about their finances, with levels of debt among the chief concerns. However, 58% have not acted upon their anxiety.

People need to be aware that they can get free debt advice. It is strongly recommended that anyone worried about their debt talks to a professional with a wide knowledge of debt solutions rather than struggle on, possibly making their problems worse.
The worries over debt are understandable. Recent figures from Credit Action suggest that personal debt in the UK is increasingly by around £1 million every four minutes, with the current total now well in excess of £1 trillion.

Although the problem is widespread, the evidence suggests that people would rather hide their debts than address them. A recent YouGov poll commissioned by Debt Free Direct revealed that 70% of people with serious debt problems keep their partners in the dark over their finances.

However, The Debt Counsellors emphasise that, rather than worry or conceal their situation, people struggling with debt problems should take advantage of the free debt advice available from the organisation and learn more about the many debt solutions that exist for even the most serious cases.

John Porter, a senior counsellor with The Debt Counsellors, says: "People need to be aware that they can get free debt advice. It is strongly recommended that anyone worried about their debt talks to a professional with a wide knowledge of debt solutions rather than struggle on, possibly making their problems worse."

Porter adds: "Even with the most serious debt and insolvency problems, it is possible to avoid bankruptcy through procedures like the Individual Voluntary Arrangement, or IVA. We talk people through all the options available and help them decide which is right for their situation."

The Debt Counsellors offer free debt advice in complete confidence. For more information, visit http://www.debtcounsellors.co.uk
